Big Sur home sales were non-existent for the month of June 2010 with no homes closing escrow. Currently there is 10 homes for sale and no homes pending sale. If we compare to June in 2009 the sales picture was no different with no reported sales in the month of June 2009.
The highest priced listed home for sale is $5,900,000 for a property located on Highway 1 that is 3987 SF home on a large Ocean view lot, current days on market is 60 days. The most recent sale in Big Sur was for a 935 SF home on a 6 acre lot with ocean views, this home sold for $415,000 on May 21, 2010. This was a short sale that took over 420 days to sell.
The Big Sur market trend is slow and tenative, hopefully summer tourist traffice and the upcoming Big Sur Marathon will attract more potential buyers to our community. Now more than ever it is imperative to have your home listed with an experienced marketing agent.
